...think about this...when was the last time Chrysler released a competitive, mainstream product in a new segment, before Toyota, Honda, Ford, VW and Mazda?
Good job Sergio.

It looks like a Nissan Cube that's gone on a PCP binge.

I actually kind of like it. Maybe they will offer it with a manual?

Only thing I am worried about it if you can get a good, meaty, off road tire in those narrow wheel wells.

It looks like jeep put a new face on a kia soul

I didn't notice that until you said it. I still think it looks good, though.

It looks likes the Compass had a sex change.

I'm sure Jeep will have some sort of off road set up.

I've decided that no matter what they actually name it, I will be calling it "Baby Jeep." SO CUTE.

Like I said a thousand time on the FP post, so as long as it's a competitive off-roader that's suitable for the kinds of terrain a Jeep would go through (I'm saying Wrangler and GC levels), I'd be cool with it.
It looks like a perfect revival of the small tiny 4x4s from the 80's and 90's, and since Suzuki and Isuzu aren't here, Jeep might as well introduce something of that vein for those consumers.

Yea, it's like a trail-rated Cube/Element/Soul/xB...which is pretty great.

It looks like a Kia

Doug DeMuro should be pretty thrilled, he'll be able to sell his Cube and Range Rover and just get this.

I hope what is pictured is not the trail hawk trim because if that's the case I'm no longer interested.

I dig it!
Always liked the form factor of the tiny 4x4, wished we could get a Panda or a Yeti over here, Ill take this instead, would be a fun little urban surf vehicle.

It looks great to me!
The wheels look a lot like those of an XV Crosstrek. The Renegade isn't in the same size class anyway, as it's the smaller of the two, but I would probably still associate/compare them since they're lifted, off-road-capable versions of other cars.

I like it. More importantly the misses LOVES it.

That's some serious ground clearance for something so small, and short overhangs! Me gusta!

It doesn't interest me, but I don't think it looks bad.
The last time Chrysler beat its competitors to market with something competitive? That would be a diesel powered 1/2 ton truck, so quite recently.
Design has always been a strong suit of Chrysler. Execution and build quality, that's another story.

what new segment is this? cars for awful people? thats what the compass was for.

Based on the blacked out hood bulge on the other pictures, it likely is the trailhawk version. But maybe, they'll only offer it in trailhawk trim? (Yeah, I know)

Every time Jeep comes out with something, the hardcore offroaders complain about something involving malls or some such. For the sake of the brand and its heritage, I'm glad Chrysler just keeps doing its own thing.
